What’s in store for meeting planners this year? Here is go to list for you. I found lists that cover technology, food and more.
Technology: When it comes to what’s new in tech plus meetings, the go-to-guy is Corbin Ball. In this list he shares the various technologies and social media platforms to keep on your radar for the coming year.
Predictions: From Smart Meetings comes a list that includes hot meeting destinations, with South America in the spotlight; some negotiation advice, as attrition and cancellation terms become stricter; along with pricing predictions with a buyer’s market in Europe and stable airfares.
A Bit of This and That: Corporate Meetings and Incentives cover a nice mix in their list. They talk about robots as a great way to get wow; customized incentives; the power of themed meetings; and glamping (glamorous camping, perhaps the only type of camping I’m willing to try).
Pricing and Savings: Successful Meetings has an eye on your bottom line. In their list they look at rising hotel prices, shrinking lead times, virtual meetings and creating value through experiences.
F&B: In a MeetingsNet list, you’ll find what’s new in food and beverage. To view this list, you will need to register at the site, if you have not already done so (it’s free!). The list talks up veggies (with a special nod to cucumbers), going Hawaiian, Kombucha, Bloody Marys and “Umbrella-d Cocktails” (with Mocktails on the flipside) and “Matcha” more.
Group: Hotel Executive brings us a list that shares hot destinations, including Cuba, as well as 2nd and 3rd tier cities. They also explore Millenials at meetings (they’re the latest audience), content marketing and a nod to relationships between planners and suppliers (when you read this one, please note that I return all phone calls/emails in a very timely manner).
My prediction for 2016 is about saving time and money. Okay, so it’s not anything new, but instead a steady and true fact; Jill Stone (that’s me!) remains in your corner! This year let me help you find the best meeting space, at negotiated pricing and with far less headaches. Yay 2016!
