Bargain Shoppers

in: Fun Technology

shoppersSome of us, and I am one of them, are born with the “bargain gene.” Those with the bargain gene simply cannot get any sort of a thrill from buying items at regular price. Buying something at regular price only applies when all bargain avenues have been explored and exhausted.  For those of you with the bargain gene, have I found some deals for you!

PriceBlink is an add on for your browser. It is available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer. Once installed, a yellow bar will show up across the top of your browser. When you are searching for an item, the bar will alert you to where you can get the same item for a lower price (including the cost of shipping), you can do price comparisons, and even find out if there is a coupon available to make it an even better deal!

Ebates is a site that pays you to shop on line. You can do your normal shopping at virtually every know retailer and receive a percentage of the purchase as a rebate. Check out their site to also find coupons, shipping codes and more.

Gyft is an app for those of you that receive, then promptly forget, that you have a gift card. The app is available for the iPhone and Android. When you receive a gift card, you simply plug the info into your app, when you need it, simply click on it and show it to the cashier. No more fumbling around looking for it, or remembering you have it . . . . somewhere, “Where did I put that card?” Plus, since it is on your smart phone it is readily available.  As well, Gyft allows for you to give and receive gift cards via Facebook, Twitter, Text or Email! Great for those last minute gifts!
Some other apps to check out are

  • Amazon Price Check which allows you to see if you can get an item cheaper on Amazon before purchasing it at the store.
  • Gas Buddy helps you find the cheapest gas prices in your area!
  • Groupon users who have yet to download the app are missing out! With this you no longer have to print up your deals, they are always at your fingertips. You can also purchase deals on the go.
  • Living Social also has an app for those of you that score deals at this site.
  • Weekly Ads & Sales brings those weekly grocery and retail store circulars right to your phone so you know which stores to visit when.

If you have a dynamite deals app or idea, please share it with me on my Facebook page! May your shopping adventures bring you joy, may the bargains be a’plenty and may you always score the best deal!
