Ground-Breaking and Innovating, Part 2

innovating

Last week I talked about the innovative nature of Meetings Managers and how we must and are expected to stay ahead of the curve for our attendees. But we also need to remain innovative for ourselves; and we deserve anything that makes our very difficult job even easier. Here are a few more items to explore.

Go Reply: Savvy meeting planners utilize many types of media to market their events, including social media. And since social media is a conversation, you need to take part. When your audience talks to you, you need let them know you are listening, whether that be by liking their comment, declaring appreciation or answering a question. Ideally, you have a person (even two or three) on your team that can keep an eye on your pages and respond to the comments and questions. Each social media platform has a corresponding phone app that makes it easy and accessible to keep an eye on your pages no matter where you are, and it’s a good idea to learn how to make the best use of them.

Great Representation: Don’t ignore the marketing power of your attendees and sponsors. Each one comes with their own connections, and some of those connections are potential attendees and sponsors! Provide them with shareable posts and information they can include in their own newsletters. Consider providing an incentive for participation – a fun giveaway or extra goodies at the event – as a thank you for them helping you to spread the word.

Go Outside: Of your company that is. Your company can only do so much and can only hire so many people. Sometimes you need to engage outside help. Even better is when you find value added support that saves you both time and money, and that is done in an ever cheerful and sunny way. Learn how I save you time, money, headaches and heartaches at my website. There is no charge for my services, and cheerful and sunny disposition is always part of the package.

Consider yourself updated, Meeting Manager!
