Starting today, celebrations of all things lovey-dovey kick off, it’s Valentine’s Week. Each day has its own focus and we are taking this a step further with an amazing itinerary on where to celebrate each day.
Rose Day, Monday February 7, 2022
First stop is Pasadena, California, home of the famous Tournament of Roses Parade! The parade takes place on New Year’s Day. For those that have missed it this year, there’s still a chance to check out the Tournament of Roses House aka Wrigley Mansion. Ada Wrigley of chewing gum royalty, donated this over-the-top mansion as a planning headquarters for the New Year’s Day Rose Bowl Game and Parade. It’s also where the Royal Court prepares for the day’s activities. For those looking to tie the knot, this mansion may be the perfect place!
Propose Day, Tuesday, February 8, 2022
Haven’t popped the big question yet? This next stop is an ideal place to do so, it’s the Wedding Capital of the World – Las Vegas. If the answer is “Yes,” why wait? Pop on over to the Little White Chapel and choose from five chapels, an outdoor gazebo, or take the quickest route possible to marital bliss by driving through the world-famous Tunnel of Love Drive Thru.
Chocolate Day, Wednesday, February 9, 2022
Next, head on over the Hershey, Pennsylvania, the Sweetest Place on Earth. There are plenty of attractions to keep everybody busy and engaged. During downtime, stop by MeltSpa and enjoy a facial, manicure, hair, make-up and massage, including a Hershey’s Cocoa Massage which features an intoxicating blend of organic cocoa butter skin nourishing oils. Sign me up! Of course, a primary and most satisfying activity is to eat plenty of chocolate! In some area restaurants, cocoa or chocolate is featured in just about everything on the menu.
Teddy Day, Thursday, February 10, 2022
On day four of our tour, we celebrate the Teddy Bear, named after US President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt. Be sure to check out his presidential library, located in Medora, North Dakota. If you have some extra time, you can see Teddy bigger than life; just head to South Dakota (about 4 ½ hours away) and check out Mount Rushmore.
Promise Day, Friday, February 11, 2022
On this day, there are three locations to choose from; Promise, Tennessee, Promise, South Dakota or Promise, Oregon. No promises that there is much to do in any of these cities, but one can promise that they do exist 😉
Hug Day, Saturday, February 12, 2022
It is said that the word “hug” comes from an Old Norse word “hugga,” which means “comfort”. So head on over to Scandinavia to enjoy the northern lights, visit amazing castles, watch whales, visit an ice hotel, see a fjord, and so much more!
Kiss Day, Sunday, February 13, 2002
Valentine’s Day, Monday, February 14, 2022
It’s been a fun seven days! Wrap it all up with a big heart-shaped box and head home! Dear Meeting Planner, wherever home is for you, may it be filled with all the love you so deserve.
